OGIVE LENGTH GAUGE

Consistent bullet insertion depth into the neck of the cartridge is necessary for reliable bullet jump and for reliable powder burn pressure. Measuring from the meplat of the bullet to the base of the cartridge is unreliable for a number of reasons. Many reloaders use the nut type gauges because they are good value for money but they can also be awkward to use. This solution holds the nut gauge magnetically into a hex pocket and this pocket is clamped to a standard digital caliper. This makes taking the measurement easier and improves confidence in the measurements recorded.
